Widefield Child Care opened in 1990 to serve working families across Greater El Paso County. Widefield's caring staff run the operation day-to-day—when you call to schedule a tour or ask a question, you talk to our team directly, not a call center.
We're licensed by the Colorado Department of Human Services and follow all state ratio requirements: 1:8 for preschool and 1:15 for school-age care. Our staff are background-checked, fingerprinted, and certified in First Aid and CPR.
Our classrooms serve children from 2 to 10 years old—preschool and Pre-K with structured curriculum, and before/after school care with transportation to nearby elementary schools. We're open Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and we close on major federal holidays. Tuition includes an afternoon snack.
We use a parent app to keep you updated—meals, naps, activities, and photos go up in real time, with daily summaries for older kids. Parent-teacher conferences happen as needed—you can request a meeting anytime. Most of our families are military or dual-income households near Fort Carson and Peterson Space Force Base, and we understand the logistics—shift work, deployment schedules, and last-minute changes.
