Before and after school care serves kids in kindergarten through 5th or 6th grade, depending on the child. Morning care starts at 6:30 a.m., and we transport kids to their schools. After school, we pick them up, bring them back to the center, and provide care until 5:30 p.m.
We transport to Talbott Elementary only. If your child attends a different school, you'll need to arrange drop-off and pick-up yourself. We use vans with licensed drivers and maintain required child restraints per Colorado law. Kids are signed in and out at the school, and we keep attendance logs.

After school, kids get a snack—provided and included in tuition. Then we move into homework time. Teachers are available to help, but we're not tutors—we provide a quiet space, check that work is done, and redirect kids who are off-task. If your child consistently struggles with homework or needs more help than we can provide in a group setting, we'll let you know so you can arrange additional support.
After homework, it's free play, organized games, art projects, or outdoor time. Fridays often include special activities—movie day, game tournaments, or cooking projects. School-age kids have more autonomy than preschoolers, but there are still rules and expectations. We handle behavior issues directly and loop parents in when needed.
Colorado's ratio for school-age care is 1:15—one staff member for every 15 kids. School-age rooms are louder and less structured than preschool. Kids can choose their activities within the options we provide, and they're expected to clean up after themselves and follow the rules without constant reminders.
Widefield Child Care operates Monday through Friday during the school year, 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We also offer care on teacher in-service days, winter break, and spring break when schools are closed but parents still need childcare. Late fees apply after 5:30 p.m.—$5 per minute. If you're stuck in traffic or have an emergency, call ahead so we know you're coming.
